Shirtilicious [37th HCSC]

February 12th, 2011  |  Published in Events

Darreen Lum and Lai Wen Shen, student councilors from Hwa Chong Institution (College Section) are organizing a school-wide shirt donation drive from 1st to 16th February.

The event, titled Shirtilicious, is also a record-breaking event, wherein the collected shirts will be arranged into an image to break the world record for the largest shirt mosaic. All collected shirts will be donated thereafter.

The beneficiary they have selected is The Salvation Army. Shirts donated to The Salvation Army will either be sold at their thrift stores or donated to the less fortunate, both local and overseas. Profits that The Salvation Army earns from their thrift stores will go towards funding their social and community programmes for the under-privileged.

You can help them hit a target of 2500 shirts by contributing any old shirts you may have.

Hwa Chong 92nd Anniversary Celebrations

February 11th, 2011  |  Published in Events

As Hwa Chong celebrates its 92nd Anniversary on March 21st this year, the Hwa Chong Alumni Association Youth Chapter has put together a series of initiatives to engage the Hwa Chong family at www.hwachongyouth.org/web/hc92

You may choose to pen down your well wishes and dedications on our online guest book or express your love for the school through both English and Chinese literary fashion in our “I LOVE HC” and “爱我华中” Literary Competitions. Photography enthusiasts can participate in our 3.21 SNAP Photography Contest and showcase the captured moments of our rich school life and Hwa Chong’s majestic landscape.

Join me in celebrating the remarkable achievements of this world-class institution par excellence and indulge in the revelry as we reminisce the beautiful memories we have had in Hwa Chong. May the Hwa Chong Spirit stay strong and ablaze for the many years to come!

With greatest passion for my alma mater,
