Introduction to Mindfulness Workshop

You are cordially invited to participate in the Introduction to Mindfulness Workshop organised by the Hwa Chong Alumni Association Youth Chapter.

This introductory mindfulness course is designed for anyone who wants to have an understanding of mindfulness, and start to apply mindfulness in their daily lives and enjoy the benefits.

We have invited our very own alumnus and experienced psychologist, Mr Eric Lim to conduct this introductory workshop. This workshop is free for all Hwa Chong alumni, students and their parents.

About the Instructor
An alumnus of Hwa Chong Institution, Mr Eric Lim is a mindfulness psychologist at Brahm Centre. He holds a B.Soc.Sci. (Hons.) degree in psychology from the National University of Singapore. He spearheads the curriculum development and research efforts of the mindfulness programmes.

He is a certified .b and Paws b teacher from the Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK), and conducts both courses for children and youths at Brahm Centre as well as in schools. He is a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher from the Centre For Mindfulness (CFM) University of Massachusetts Medical School.

He has worked with children, youths, parents, adults and caregivers in conducting mindfulness talks and workshops for organisations such as National University of Singapore, Taman Jurong Community Club, Hwa Chong Institution, Nanyang Girls High School, Singapore Management University, Nanyang Polytechnic, Yishun Town Secondary, St Anthony’s Canossian Secondary, Ai Tong Primary, Asian Civilization Museum, MacPherson Community Club, Whispering Hearts Family Service Centre and Ren Ci Hospital.

Started in 2008, Hwa Chong Past VS Present is into its 10th year! It serves as a platform for fellow students, and the alumni to gather and engage in friendly sports competitions. Boosting a wide range of familiar sports, it is promised that there will be a lot of fun and laughter during Past VS Present. Students and alumni of Nanyang Girls’ High School are also welcome to join. So what are you waiting for? Form your teams and sign up now!

The 10th edition of PvsP will be held on 1st October (Saturday) morning at Hwa Chong Institution.

Into its 9th year, Hwa Chong Past vs Present was started in 2008 to provide past and Hwa Chong Institution and Hwa Chong International School students a platform to gather and engage in friendly sports competitions with students of their age and also with alumni. Since last year, we have welcomed students and alumni of Nanyang Girls’ High School to join the event as well.

Lecture by Prof Wang Gungwu on Chinese Diaspora in Southeast Asia

Hwa Chong Cultural Centre Logo Design Competition

The Hwa Chong Alumni Association invites all members of the Hwa Chong family to submit designs for the Hwa Chong Cultural Centre Logo Design Competition. The winning design selected will appear as the logo for our new Hwa Chong Cultural Centre.

Submissions will close on 27 November 2015 (Friday) 2359 hours.

Voting by most number of likes on Facebook will be from 28 November 2015 to 6 December 2015 (Sunday) 2359 hours.
